Another Source’s client, Pomona College, is recruiting a Marketing and Communications Specialist, Young Alumni & Family Giving, to join their Advancement team. This is a great position to take your fundraising career to the next level and enhance your major gifts experience. You will work a hybrid schedule of three days on site and two days remote in Pomona, CA. (This position is internally titled: Assistant Director, Young Alumni & Family Giving)

What you will be doing:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist, Young Alumni & Family Giving will work in partnership with the Director of Annual Giving to create and manage a comprehensive annual giving program focused on shaping sustainable growth in participation and unrestricted support from young alumni and family constituencies for Pomona College. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a successful young alumni and family philanthropy program that will leverage multi-channel direct response marketing strategies, volunteer engagement, direct outreach and events as part of the College’s annual fundraising, and in preparation for the most aspirational, comprehensive capital campaign in the history of the College. You will also develop and implement creative solicitation strategies and programming to increase philanthropic support from young alumni and families. You will train and supervise student employees as well as young alumni volunteers to advance program initiatives and goals.
The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $67,000 - $73,000.
How you will be spending your time:
Work collaboratively with Advancement Communications and Events, Alumni & Family Engagement, and Leadership Annual Giving to ensure all giving initiatives and online communications for young alumni and families are fully integrated into College marketing and development efforts.
Work closely with Advancement Services to develop reports and maintain data integrity in various Advancement databases and software to ensure a targeted strategy.
Lead program and project analysis and manage project budget.
Attend and assist with special Advancement events, as directed.
Coordinate special projects/tasks and provide assistance as assigned.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, a liberal arts field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required.
A valid driver’s license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required.
A minimum of 2 years of fundraising, digital engagement or marketing experience is required. Two years of experience at an academic institution is preferred. Leading and managing employees or volunteers, creating successful programs, and working effectively in teams is preferred.
Deploy professional skills in fundraising, in collaboration with colleagues, to best promote the College’s strategic interests.
Able to recognize opportunities, identify critical/high pay-off activities, and prioritize them to attain goals.
Must have an understanding of the principles and techniques relevant to fundraising.
Operate computers proficiently with basic Microsoft Office software (such as Word, Excel, Outlook) and associated professional software (such as Cognos, Raiser’s Edge, prospect research tools, Internet research, menu-driven databases, and social media networking). Use assigned technology/devices/equipment to achieve annual goals and maintain confidentiality.
Handle all activities and highly confidential information with patience, discretion, good judgment, courtesy and tact while working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
