Our mission is to elevate the event catering experience and we are now seeking an enthusiastic Event & Sales Manager to join our team.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Event & Sales Manager with solid experience in end-to-end event management within the Food & Beverage sector. If you’re a master of planning, logistics, and on-site event management, and can negotiate effectively with clients and suppliers, this role is perfect for you.

An expert in event strategy & execution - The ability to lead our events strategy to deliver unforgettable food experiences that exceed client expectations. The ability to handle all aspects of event planning, including logistics, health and safety, vendor negotiations and on-site coordination. To utilise your creativity and problem-solving skills to bring ease to events and ensure they are executed to the highest standard.


A People Person - You are able to build strong genuine relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring smooth communication & collaboration.

Negotiate effectively to achieve the best outcomes for our events while maintaining positive relationships.


A Tidy, Focused Mind - You can manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, ensuring consistency and quality across all events.

Display sound, level-headed decision-making in high-pressure situations to achieve the best results.


A Distiller of the Essential - You default to streamlining processes for efficiency, making life easier for the team, suppliers, and clients. You proactively think ahead and solve problems before they arise, ensuring seamless event execution.


This is not a desk job there will be a mix of in-office work and practical on-site event management. We work on a hybrid basis with 2-3 WFH days a week. Day to Day Responsibilities

Our workload fluctuates with the event seasons. During peak seasons (May- September & December), your focus will be on hands-on event management, both onsite and in the office. In off-peak periods, you will focus on obtaining, building and maintaining client and supplier relationships to help grow the business.


Event Management:

Oversee end-to-end event catering for clients, from initial concept to final evaluation.

Manage event operations and logistics, ensuring seamless execution of all event aspects.

Work onsite at events or coordinate from the office to ensure smooth operation.


Operational Responsibilities:

Create detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and logistical requirements.

Handle budgeting for events and negotiate favourable terms with suppliers and clients.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, with a focus on food safety and due diligence.

Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and councils, to align event details and requirements.


Client & Supplier Relations:

Serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing their needs and expectations throughout the event lifecycle.

Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients and suppliers.

Process incoming catering opportunities across diverse event types, ensuring timely and accurate responses.


Sales & Business Development:

Work towards sales targets and deadlines, often with quick turnaround times.

Onboard new suppliers to expand our network and enhance our service offerings.


Team Leadership:

Train, brief, and delegate responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity and efficiency in their roles.

Streamline event management processes and maintain databases for optimal efficiency and scalability.


Quality Assurance & Management:

Manage contractors and oversee site logistics, ensuring all aspects meet our quality standards.

Conduct quality assurance checks across suppliers and team activities to maintain high service levels.

Required Experience


Event Management Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in end-to-end event management, preferably within the Food & Beverage sector.

Strong background in planning, coordinating, and executing events from concept to completion.


Catering, Hospitality or Food Service Expertise:

Demonstrable experience in managing catering operations for various event types.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and health & safety compliance, particularly related to catering and food handling.


Client & Supplier Relations:

Track record of building and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and managing expectations.

Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.


Sales & Business Development:

Experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, achieving sales targets, and managing client accounts.

Strong negotiation skills with a history of successful contract negotiations and vendor management.


Budget Management:

Competence in budgeting and financial management for events, including cost estimation, budget tracking, and financial reporting.

Experience in negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.


Operational & Logistics Management:

Experience in managing logistical aspects of events including on-site event setup and breakdown.

Ability to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

Quick at grasping & understanding systems & processes


Team Leadership:

Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team, including delegating tasks and overseeing team performance.

Experience in managing contractors and on-site staff during events.


Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:

Demonstrated ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to anticipating and addressing potential issues.


Project Management Skills:

Proficiency in handling multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring consistency and quality across all events.

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.


Technical Skills:

Proficiency in event management software and tools, such as Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and project management software.

Basic understanding of digital marketing tools (preferred but not essential).


Start-Up Experience (Preferred):

Experience working in a start-up environment or small business, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and contribute to the company’s growth.

Comfort with a dynamic work environment where roles and responsibilities may evolve.

Practical:

A clean driving licence with 2 years of driving experience. Confident driving a LWB or SWB van.
